MUNI Weekend

I went to Muni weekend on Saturday. Muni proved harder than I expected.
During the hill race in the morning I went only a few feet. While
somewhat discouraged I attributed this to virtually no experience off
road on the uni and partially, to having too (two?) short cranks. As
someone there pointed out, I have street style 5" cranks whereas 5.5"
cranks may have been more effective. Still there remains the skills to
attain! I ended up having a lot of respect for those who completed the
race, even partially! And, I believe, you were the only one of us who
could ride all the way to the top of the hill, a feat I am not sure I
could do on my mountain bike! Afterwards, I went on the novice ride.
This was a perfect trail for my abilities, it was challenging in spots
but mostly rideable and scenic. I also enjoyed seeing so many other
people on uni's. Though I had to leave early, I enjoyed this experience
and would like to try again. Later that day it occurred to me that
Salmon falls would be a good uni trail and it was surprising to see
y'all in the Bee on Monday at Salmon Falls, good goin'! Since I have
ridden this trail many times on bike, I would be interested to know what
parts of the trail you rode. Did you ride along the narrow single track
that begins near the car bridge and goes along the cliffs? That would
seem pretty hairy for me on a uni! How far did you go?
